Tinubu Appoints Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance
Bola Tinubu has nominated Taiwo Oyedele as the new Minister of State for Finance, in a fresh adjustment to his cabinet.
Oyedele is expected to take over from Doris Uzoka-Anite, who will now move to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning as part of the reshuffle.
The development signals a strategic realignment within the nation’s economic management team, as the Tinubu administration continues efforts to stabilise public finances, reform tax administration and drive fiscal policy reforms.
Oyedele, a renowned fiscal policy expert and former chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, has been widely recognised for his work on tax harmonisation and revenue generation strategies aimed at improving Nigeria’s fiscal sustainability.
His nomination is expected to strengthen ongoing reforms in the finance ministry, particularly in the areas of tax restructuring, revenue mobilisation and economic planning coordination with the budget ministry.
Details of the nomination are expected to be transmitted to the National Assembly for confirmation in line with constitutional requirements.
