Former ESUT Council Chairman Holds Private Audience with Pope Francis

Former Chairman of the Governing Council of Enugu State University of Science and Technology, Chinyeaka Ohaa, recently held a private audience with Pope Francis at the Vatican City following his voluntary resignation from the university’s governing body.

The visit was part of a personal pilgrimage for spiritual reflection and guidance, highlighting Ohaa’s commitment to faith after concluding his leadership role at the institution. He was accompanied by John Onaiyekan, emphasizing the visit’s significance within the Catholic community.

During the audience, Ohaa participated in moments of prayer and reflection and received a formal blessing from the pontiff. Speaking afterward, he described the meeting as a time for gratitude and seeking divine direction for future endeavors.

A retired Federal Permanent Secretary, Ohaa’s tenure at ESUT focused on institutional stability and enhancing academic programs.
