Wike Says He Has Not Endorsed Any Candidate for Rivers Elections

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has declared that he has not endorsed any individual for future political contests in Rivers State, stressing that such decisions remain the responsibility of party elders.

Wike made the statement while addressing a joint gathering of All Progressives Congress and Peoples Democratic Party stakeholders from Rivers State at his official residence in Life Camp, Abuja, cautioning against rushed endorsements and internal divisions caused by personal ambitions.

He warned that external forces are seeking to divide stakeholders due to their successful collaboration and expressed disappointment in individuals who, after benefiting from appointments, turned against the leadership, describing such behaviour as a failure of character.

On upcoming political cycles, Wike dismissed rumours of private endorsements for local offices, insisting that his public and private positions are aligned and reaffirming that the only official endorsement currently recognised by the group is for President Bola Tinubu.

He commended council chairmen, elders, and party leaders for their coordination, noting that the lack of complaints from members reflects the success and transparency of the gathering.
