Dickson, NDC Leaders Welcome APC Defectors
Former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson, has received a group of defectors from the ruling All Progressives Congress, signaling fresh political realignments ahead of future elections.
The defectors were received by Dickson alongside leaders of the Nigerian Democratic Congress during a solidarity visit to his residence in Abuja this Wednesday, with the group led by former APC Special Adviser on Youth Matters, Nasir Lawal.
Lawal said their defection was due to growing dissatisfaction within the APC, alleging marginalisation of youths and women as well as dominance of party structures by a small group of political elites, which he said had alienated grassroots members.
Dickson, however, commended the defectors for what he described as a bold decision, assuring them of full integration into the party while reiterating the NDC’s commitment to inclusivity, youth participation and broader political engagement.
