Group Calls for Nationwide Protest Over Killings, Hardship Under Tinubu
A civil society group has called on Nigerians to prepare for a one-day nationwide protest over rising insecurity and economic hardship under the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the report, the organisers urged citizens to mobilise across the country in what they described as a “peaceful revolt” against worsening living conditions, killings, and governance concerns.
The call is linked to the broader #EndBadGovernance movement, which has previously organised protests demanding economic relief, accountability, and protection of citizens’ rights.
The group expressed concern over the rising cost of living, insecurity, and alleged suppression of dissent, stating that Nigerians can no longer remain silent amid increasing hardship. They emphasized that the protest is intended to send a strong message to authorities about the urgent need for reforms.
Nigeria has in recent years witnessed multiple protest movements driven by economic struggles and governance issues, with citizens taking to the streets to demand change and relief from hardship.
As of now, there has been no official response from the Federal Government regarding the latest call for protest.
