Kanye West’s life changed completely after the serious car accid£nt he had in 2002.
In October that year, Kanye was spending long hours in the studio making beats for other artists because, at the time, he was mainly known as a producer, not a rapper.
After working late into the night, he got into his rented Lexus to head home.
On his way back, he allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel and cr@shed directly into another car.
The accident was very serious and left his jaw br0ken in three places.
Doctors had to wire his jaw shut so the bones could heal properly.
Even while recovering, Kanye refused to stop working. Although he could barely speak because of the wired jaw, he went ahead and recorded “Through the Wire” using the beats from that same night.
He was literally rapping with his jaw still wired shut.
That song became the moment that introduced him to the world as a rapper, helping him move from being seen as just Jay-Z’s producer to becoming an artist in his own right.
It later became his debut single and the breakthrough that launched his rap career.
Ye has been through a lot.
