Türkiye Plans Military Training Facility in Nigeria
Nigeria and Türkiye are set to deepen their growing defence cooperation following plans to establish a military training facility on Nigerian soil, in a move aimed at strengthening the country’s security architecture and operational capacity.
The development comes amid renewed efforts by the Nigerian Armed Forces to enhance troop readiness and address evolving security challenges, including insurgency, banditry, and other asymmetric threats across different regions of the country.
According to defence sources, the proposed facility is expected to serve as a centre for advanced military training, capacity building, and strategic collaboration between Nigerian forces and Turkish military experts.
