APC chieftain says ADC working to stop southern presidency

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ayekooto Akindele, has alleged that the African Democratic Congress, ADC, is being used by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to stop the southern presidency.

Akindele made the claim while reacting to comments by members of the Obidient Movement who praised Peter Obi for leaving the ADC for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC.

In a post shared on his Facebook page, the APC chieftain claimed Atiku had earlier attempted to use the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to return power to the North but failed.

He argued that the ADC was created as a political platform aimed at ending the South’s hold on power after the administrations of former President Muhammadu Buhari and President Bola Tinubu.

Akindele also criticised Peter Obi for leaving the Labour Party for the NDC, describing Abia State Governor Alex Otti as more politically sensible for remaining in the Labour Party.
