BREAKING: Protest in Awgu as Residents Block Highway Over Reported Killings
There is tension in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State, near the Federal College of Education, following reports of a deadly attack by armed Fulani terrorist.
According to local accounts, several persons were killed and their bodies were dumped along the roadside by the Fulani terrorist.
Angered residents subsequently took to the streets, blocking the federal highway at Awgu Junction in protest over the incident.
Security operatives, including personnel of the Nigerian Army, were deployed to the scene in an effort to restore order and disperse the protesters.
