ADC Convention: Onanuga Reacts As Aregbesola Asked Tinubu To Resign.

JUST IN: ADC Convention: Onanuga Reacts As Aregbesola Asked Tinubu To Resign.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has strongly criticized Rauf Aregbesola over remarks attributed to him calling on the president to resign, following the African Democratic Congress (ADC) convention held in Abuja on Tuesday.
In a post shared via his verified X account, Onanuga dismissed the ADC convention as “unlawful,” alleging that the party is populated by actors motivated purely by political ambition rather than a coherent national agenda.
He accused Aregbesola of aligning with opposition narratives on economic hardship and insecurity while overlooking shortcomings from his own time in office.
Onanuga further revisited Aregbesola’s tenure as governor of Osun State, asserting that the period was characterized by hardship for workers and pensioners, many of whom reportedly experienced irregular or partial salary payments.
He stated:
“His eight-year term as Osun State’s governor subjected the people to severe hardship. Due to flawed socialist-oriented policies, civil servants endured prolonged salary delays, while some received only fractions of their earnings.
“This same individual now criticizes the Tinubu administration, despite leaving behind a legacy in Osun marked by salary arrears, weak fiscal management, abandoned projects, and policy failures that set the state back.”
