American Civil Rights Icon Jesse Jackson D+es At 84
Jesse Jackson, a prominent leader of the US civil rights movement during the 1960s, has passed away at the age of 84. He died peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday morning, surrounded by family and friends.
Announcing his passing, Jackson’s family said:
“It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Civil Rights leader and founder of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, the Honorable Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson, Sr. He d+ed peacefully on Tuesday morning, surrounded by his loved ones.”
