APC Consensus Ticket Must Be Approved by All Contestants — National Chairman

BREAKING: APC Consensus Ticket Must Be Approved by All Contestants — National Chairman

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has clarified that the party’s adoption of a consensus candidate for the 2027 elections can only be achieved with the full consent of all aspirants involved.

Speaking on the party’s nomination process, the APC chairman stressed that consensus candidacy is not imposed but must emerge from a voluntary agreement among all contenders seeking the party’s ticket.

According to him, any move to adopt a consensus candidate without the approval of all aspirants would be inconsistent with the party’s internal democratic principles.

He further explained that the essence of the consensus arrangement is to promote unity within the party, adding that such an agreement must reflect the collective will of all those in the race.

The clarification comes amid ongoing political consultations and alignments within the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
