Army Confirms Alleged Coup Plot Against Tinubu Administration
The Nigerian Army has officially confirmed a plot to overthrow the administration of President Bola Tinubu through a coup d’état involving several high-ranking military officers and civilians.
A soldier from the Nigerian Army Corps of Military Police, identified as “AAA,” gave the testimony this Wednesday before the Federal High Court in Abuja during the trial of six alleged masterminds.
The witness revealed that a recovered jotter contained operational plans, including names of current government officials and military officers marked for assassination during the execution of the coup.
He further stated that investigations uncovered financial trails linking the plotters to a former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, who is currently reported to be at large.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik admitted several documents and digital forensic evidence into the record and adjourned further hearing in the case until May 4th.
