Chelsea Announce Pre-Tax Loss of £262.4m

Chelsea Football Club have announced a pre-tax loss of £262.4 million for the year ending June 30, 2025, marking the highest ever recorded in the Premier League.

The club said this, this Wednesday, stating that the losses were largely due to increased operating costs during the 2024/25 season despite recording significant revenue.

Chelsea reported revenue of £490.9 million, one of the highest in the club’s history, boosted by earnings from winning the Club World Cup, although the previous year’s profit had been influenced by the sale of their women’s team to a subsidiary company.

The development comes amid earlier sanctions by the Premier League over financial breaches linked to the era of former owner Roman Abramovich, with the club fined and given a suspended transfer ban but remaining compliant with financial sustainability rules.
