Donald Trump Threatens Iran Oil Facilities Amid Ongoing Talks
United States President, Donald Trump, has threatened to destroy Iran’s oil facilities and power plants if a deal to end the ongoing conflict is not reached soon.
Trump made the statement this Monday, warning that key infrastructure including oil wells and Kharg Island could be targeted if the Strait of Hormuz is not reopened for business.
He said the United States is currently in serious discussions with what he described as a more reasonable leadership in Tehran, expressing optimism that an agreement could be reached soon.
The remarks come just a day after earlier conciliatory comments, as tensions remain high following a month-long conflict involving the United States, Iran, and Israel.
Trump also suggested that the situation in Iran amounts to a form of regime change, noting that new leadership has emerged following the conflict.
