Election 2027: Momodu Backs Atiku-Obi Ticket, Says APC In ‘Obvious Panic’
A chieftain of the opposition and publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, has thrown his weight behind a proposed joint presidential ticket involving Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 general elections, describing the ruling party as being in a state of “obvious panic.”
Momodu, a longstanding political commentator and ally within opposition circles, argued that a strategic alliance between Atiku and Obi under the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) could reshape Nigeria’s political landscape and present a formidable challenge to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, recent political realignments and conversations among opposition figures signal a growing consensus on the need for unity to unseat the APC in 2027. He maintained that both Atiku and Obi command significant political followings across different regions of the country, a factor he believes could be निर्णative in a general election if effectively harmonised.
Momodu further claimed that signs of unease within the APC have become increasingly visible, attributing it to the possibility of a consolidated opposition front. The proposed Atiku-Obi ticket, though yet to be formally confirmed by either camp, has continued to generate debate within political circles.
