Netflix confirmed the finale is being released as a full length movie instead of Season 4 so Alice Oseman could properly give the characters a more emotional and complete ending with the story focusing on love, distance, growing up and the fear of change.

With Kit Connor and Joe Locke returning one last time and the movie premiering July 17, HEARTSTOPPER FOREVER is already shaping up to be one of Netflix’s most emotional releases of 2026.
