It Isn’t Fair For a Man to Have 100% Financial Responsibilities — Madame Joyce
Media personality Madame Joyce is sparking debate online after sharing her honest take on relationships and money, especially in today’s tough economy.
Speaking candidly, she said she doesn’t believe it’s realistic for men to carry all financial responsibilities. “I don’t believe that it’s fair in this economic state for a man to have 100% of financial responsibility in the household, that’s crazy,” she stated.
Madame Joyce explained that many expectations are based on the lifestyles of the ultra-rich. According to her, only the top earners can comfortably afford to fund everything in a relationship. “If you are part of the 0.1%, yes, you’ll buy everything,” she said, stressing that this doesn’t reflect reality for the average man.
Using the UK as an example, she pointed out that many men earn between £40k–£60k annually, questioning how one person is expected to handle bills for two. “For one person to survive on £2,600 a month, and then you now have to come and be looking after another person?” she asked.
She also challenged women to reflect on their own earnings before setting high standards. “If you’re making around 30 to 40k, you’re going to be in the spaces of those boys,” she said, urging self-improvement through education and hustle to access higher-earning circles.
