Kogi Governor Ododo Procures Armoured Personnel Carriers To Re-enforce Security

Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s uncompromising stance, against criminality declaring that, no part of the state would be surrendered to bandits, kidnappers, or other criminal elements threatening the peace and security of the people.

This was at the inspection of vehicles and other gadgets procured for security agencies in the state at the government house. Governor Ododo said the protection of lives and property remained the major responsibility of his administration.

He noted that security is a collective necessity and the foundation upon which sustainable development can thrive.

The Governor revealed that following a recent security briefings with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he has renewed his determination to confront criminal elements head-on after the clear mandate to restore and sustain peace.

The Governor, who has personally visited affected communities particularly Iluke to assess the situation there said, he refused to rely on second-hand reports on incidents disclosed that the state government has commenced the deployment of specialized security equipment, including armoured protective vehicles, to support security agencies in combating the emerging threats.

The Governor categorically ruled out any form of negotiation with criminals, insisting that his administration would not engage in any deals with bandits noting that his administration remained resolute in its determination, to reclaim Kogi territory from criminal elements and ensure lasting peace in the state.
