Serie A: AC Milan approach Pochettino after Allegri exit
AC Milan have opened discussions with Mauricio Pochettino as the club continues its search for a new manager following the departure of Massimiliano Allegri.
BBC Sport reported this Friday that the Italian giants are interested in appointing Pochettino after the 2026 FIFA World Cup, when his contract with the United States national team is expected to expire.
The Argentine coach is currently focused on leading the United States at the World Cup, which will be hosted by the US, Canada and Mexico.
Pochettino has not managed at club level since leaving Chelsea in 2024, having also coached Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton and Espanyol.
Milan decided to part ways with Allegri after failing to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League despite securing a place in the Europa League.
