Iran-aligned group claims 23 drone attacks on US sites in Erbil

The so-called Islamic Resistance, an umbrella group, aligned to Iran has claimed responsibility for 23 drone attacks targeting the US consulate and the airport in Erbil.

These Iran-aligned groups say the attacks are in relation to the killing of Iran’s supreme leader.

Three additional drones were reportedly launched by the groups and were intercepted.

The developments are being described as highly dangerous, despite politicians calling for calm.

Authorities in Iraq have warned against using Iraqi soil to launch attacks against any of the parties involved in the fighting, cautioning that such actions could drag Iraq further into the conflict.
