Real Madrid Legend Criticises Club Over Alonso’s Sack
Real Madrid legend Michel has criticised the club over what he described as unfair treatment of Xabi Alonso.
Alonso was sacked following a 3-2 loss to FC Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final and replaced by Álvaro Arbeloa.
Michel questioned the decision, suggesting Alonso was made a scapegoat despite not losing many games.
He also argued that there is little difference between Alonso’s work and that of his replacement, urging clubs to allow coaches more time to build their teams.
Michel added that coaches are often unfairly blamed for poor results, stressing that players and squad quality play a bigger role in performance.
