FIFA Clears Goalkeeper For Nigeria Duty Ahead Of March Tournament
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo has officially been cleared by FIFA to represent the Super Eagles, ahead of their March international fixtures.
Reports say this is a significant boost for Nigeria as they prepare for a four-nation invitational tournament in Amman, where they will face Iran and hosts, Jordan.
The Super Eagles are scheduled to open camp on 24 March, with matches against Iran on 27 March and Jordan four days later at the Amman International Stadium.
Reports say with first-choice goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali currently without a club, Okonkwo’s availability comes at a crucial moment for Nigeria, providing head coach Eric Chelle with an additional option.
