General Abdol Rahim Mousavi and Defense Minister General Aziz Nasirzadeh have been confirmed d,ead following US-Israeli airstr+kes that targeted a meeting of Iran’s defense council, according to Iranian state television.

The strike also k,,illed the head of the Revolutionary Guard and security adviser Ali Shamkhani.

Iranian state media said the broader aerial bombardment hit key military and government sites.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was also confirmed d3ad earlier in the day, and a 40-day state m0urning period has been declared.

Authorities reported at least 201 people k,,illed and more than 700 injur+d, with about 40 officials said to be among the d3ad.

In response, Iran launched stri+es across parts of West Asia, with reported impacts in Dubai, Doha, Bahrain and Kuwait, countries that host US military bases or are allied with Washington.

US President Donald Trump described Khamenei’s d,eath as a major opportunity for change in Iran, saying it gives the Iranian people a chance to reclaim their country.
