They’ve told us that Peter Obi will not get up to 6m votes in 2027 if he’s on the ballot because the OPTICS have changed.

They’ve told us that Peter Obi will not get up to 6m votes in 2027 if he’s on the ballot because the OPTICS have changed.

I personally agree with them. True, true, the optics have changed.

How did the optics change?

1. Data from the World Bank’s Nigeria Development Updated reports showed that Nigerians living below the poverty line grew from 87 million in 2023 to over 129 million by 2024, with millions more falling into poverty within the first year of Tinubu’s administration. This optics has changed.

2. The official percentage of poor Nigerians jumped from 40.1% in 2018 to an estimated 56% in 2024. The World Bank also predicts that more Nigerians will fall deeper into poverty before 2027. This optics has changed.

3. Nigerians are angrier and hungrier than they were in 2023. Many now struggle to feed their families, pay rent, and support their children. This optics has changed.

4. Insecurity has worsened under Tinubu’s government. NBS reports indicate that thousands of Nigerians have been killed and abducted since Tinubu assumed office in May 2023.

5. NBS estimates that 242 Nigerians are killed or abducted every week, compared to 98 in 2023. Nigerians felt safer in 2023 than they do today. This optics has changed.

Yes, the optics have changed, and ordinary Nigerians, the real voters, will change with it.

Why would anyone in the North East, North West, or North Central, after your homes, towns, communities, and villages have been destroyed and ravaged, vote APC or Tinubu in 2027?

What about you? Why would you vote for APC and Tinubu in 2027 after seeing the gross incompetence, colossal failure, and policy somersault that has characterized this government?
