We are responsible for b0mbing Ghanaian soldiers – Israel finally admits to assa+lt in Lebanon
Israel’s military has confirmed that tank f!re on March 6 in southern Lebanon mistakenly h!t a UN position, wounding Ghanaian peacekeepers.
An internal UN investigation had initially pointed to Israel as responsible.
In a statement, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) said their troops misidentified UNIFIL personnel as the source of earlier anti-tank f!re.
“A comprehensive investigation concluded the fire was carried out in err0r,” the IDF noted, adding that apologies were conveyed to Ghana and the UN.
The IDF also said the findings have been shared internally to prevent similar incidents.
The incident occurred amid renewed h0stilities after Hezbollah f!red rockets at Israel, prompting an Israeli 0ffensive in Lebanon.
