Flash: Tinubu Removes IGP Kayode Egbetokun, Tunji Disu Named Successor
President Bola Tinubu has ordered the removal of Kayode Egbetokun as Inspector General of Police, a decision that has sparked jubilation at the Force Headquarters.
Reports confirmed that the directive came directly from the President. Egbetokun is to be replaced by Tunji Disu, who currently oversees the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex in Alagbon, Lagos.
Senior officials within the Nigeria Police Force and sources at the Police Service Commission confirmed the development on Tuesday. One source disclosed that Egbetokun was summoned to the Presidential Villa on Monday and instructed to begin handover preparations.
“He has already prepared his handover notes and will be handing over to Tunji Disu,” the source said.
