Zamfara Governor Defects from PDP to APC
Dauda Lawal has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), according to a statement issued by his media aide, Nuhu Anka, this Monday.
The statement said the governor’s decision followed extensive consultations with party leaders, elders, and supporters across the state in what was described as a move taken in the interest of stability, progress, and sustainable development in Zamfara.
Anka explained that the decision was influenced by internal crises, leadership disagreements, and unresolved structural challenges within the PDP at both the national and state levels.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to security and development in the state, stating that joining the APC would promote stronger cooperation with the Federal Government and improve governance for the people of Zamfara.
