JAMB Adjusts 2026 UTME Arrival Time for First Session Candidates
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a slight adjustment to the 2026 UTME examination schedule, affecting candidates scheduled for the first session.
According to the update, candidates are now expected to arrive at their examination centres by 7:00am, instead of the earlier 6:30am. The examination itself will still begin at 8:30am and end at 10:30am, with no changes to the actual exam duration.
JAMB also clarified that candidates do not need to reprint their examination slips, as the adjustment does not affect existing exam details such as venue, date, or subject combinations.
The Board explained that the revision is part of efforts to improve CBT centre coordination, reduce early morning congestion, and ensure smoother biometric verification and accreditation processes across all centres nationwide.
The full UTME timetable remains unchanged, with four daily sessions running across the examination period, including staggered arrival and start times for different batches of candidates.
Education stakeholders have advised candidates to strictly adhere to the updated timing to avoid missed accreditation or disqualification risks due to late arrival.
