Tinubu Mandates Benjamin Kalu to Oversee APC Affairs in Abia State
President Bola Tinubu has directed the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, to take charge of the All Progressives Congress, APC, structure and mobilisation efforts in Abia State.
The Deputy Speaker said this on his official Facebook page this Monday, following an engagement with the President in Abuja where the directive for highest-ranking political office holders to lead non-APC states was reaffirmed.
Kalu explained that under this arrangement, governors manage party affairs in states controlled by the APC, while leaders like himself assume responsibility in states where the party is not currently in power.
He noted that this leadership model has already been applied across various party congresses and has significantly enhanced the unity and coordination of the APC within Abia State.
The Deputy Speaker expressed confidence in the party’s future prospects, pledging to collaborate with the National Working Committee to deliver an overwhelming vote for the President in the 2027 elections.
