Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu Appointed Foreign Affairs Minister
President Bola Tinubu has officially appointed Ambassador Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Nigeria’s new Minister of Foreign Affairs following a strategic cabinet reshuffle.
The announcement was made in a statement released this Wednesday evening by the presidential spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga, who confirmed the appointment is part of a move to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic posture.
Odumegwu-Ojukwu, a veteran diplomat, replaces Ambassador Yusuf Tuggar, who resigned to focus on his political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The President also nominated career diplomat Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs to support the administration’s focus on economic diplomacy.
Tinubu urged the new appointees to prioritize national interests and ensure the improved welfare of Nigerians living abroad.
