CAF Confirms Dates for 2027 AFCON in East Africa

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced that the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations will be held from June 19 to July 17, 2027.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe confirmed the schedule this Saturday following a FIFA Council meeting in Vancouver, where a proposal to delay the tournament to 2028 was rejected.

The competition will be co-hosted by Uganda, Kenya, and Tanzania, marking the first time the tournament has been held in East Africa since the 1976 edition in Ethiopia.

While the dates are set, CAF has yet to reveal which of the three host nations will stage the opening match or the prestigious final.

Motsepe expressed unwavering confidence in the joint hosts, stating that the commitment to organizing a successful tournament in the region remains a top priority for the federation.
