Kwankwaso denies planning protest over insecurity
Former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has denied reports claiming he is planning a protest over rising insecurity in the country, describing the information as false and misleading.
Kwankwaso made the clarification in a statement released this Monday, distancing himself and the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) from messages circulating on social media about a planned demonstration.
The former governor said neither he nor his party supports actions capable of disrupting public order or causing the destruction of lives and property.
He maintained that the NDC remains committed to peaceful and lawful engagement in addressing national issues, stressing that democratic processes remain the proper channel for seeking political change.
Kwankwaso urged Nigerians to disregard the circulating message and avoid spreading unverified information, expressing confidence that his party can achieve its goals through the ballot box.
