Atiku Slams Tinubu Over Rising Insecurity, Leadership Failure
Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the recent abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, as well as the killing of residents in Katsina State, describing the incidents as evidence of what he called a collapse of leadership under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Atiku made the remarks this Tuesday in a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, where he expressed concern over the worsening insecurity across the country.
He stated that Nigerians were tired of repeated condemnations and promises after violent attacks, insisting that communities continue to suffer while criminal groups operate without fear.
The former vice president also alleged that attempts to suppress evidence of attacks and killings were unacceptable, adding that no serious government should hide the suffering of its citizens for political reasons.
Atiku further called for the immediate rescue of abducted victims in Oyo State, stronger security operations in vulnerable communities, and a comprehensive overhaul of Nigeria’s security architecture.
