Former Delta State Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan Reportedly D!es
Former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, has reportedly d!ed, according to sources close to his family who spoke to SaharaReporters on Monday, October 19, 2026.
The circumstances surrounding his reported death remained unclear as of the time of filing this report, with no further details immediately available.
“Uduaghan is no more; he is de3d,” one of the sources reportedly told SaharaReporters.
The development comes months after reports of the former governor’s de3th circulated on social media in June, only for his family to dismiss them as false.
The earlier rumours spread across Facebook and WhatsApp on June 26, raising concerns among residents, political associates and stakeholders in Delta State.
At the time, Uduaghan’s media aide, Henry Unini, publicly refuted the claims, insisting that the former governor was alive and receiving medical attention.
“I can tell you for a fact that Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan is alive,” Unini said in response to the reports.
He criticised the circulation of unverified death reports, questioning the source of the information and stressing the importance of confirming sensitive claims before making them public.
Unini also referred to an account involving the late Chief Nnamdi Azikiwe, who reportedly expressed surprise after hearing an announcement of his own death, questioning why the information had not been verified with the appropriate sources.
While dismissing the rumours in June, the media aide acknowledged that Uduaghan had been experiencing health challenges but maintained that he was receiving proper medical care.
“It is now common knowledge that Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has been sick, but he is receiving proper medical care,” he stated at the time.
He further assured the public that the former governor was recuperating and urged residents not to panic over the circulating reports.
Unini also thanked friends, political associates and concerned residents who contacted the family to ascertain Uduaghan’s condition. He encouraged them to continue praying for the former governor and his family, promising that relevant updates would be communicated when necessary.
He described the earlier death rumours as unnecessary and urged the public to exercise caution when sharing sensitive information on social media.
However, the latest report of Uduaghan’s de3th marks a fresh development following the earlier denials.
As of the time of filing this report, details concerning the circumstances of the reported death remained unavailable, and further confirmation from the family had yet to be included in the source report.
