Juventus Agree Deal to Sign Neto on Free Transfer After Grabara Injury

Juventus have agreed a deal to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Neto on a free transfer after Kamil Grabara suffered a serious knee injury.

Juventus have reached an agreement to sign Brazilian goalkeeper Neto on a free transfer, with the experienced shot-stopper set to return to Turin following Kamil Grabara’s knee injury.

The Bianconeri have moved quickly to reinforce their goalkeeping department after Grabara suffered an ACL injury that is expected to keep him sidelined for a significant period.

Neto, 37, is now set to return to Juventus on a short-term deal, providing valuable experience and depth between the posts.

The Brazilian goalkeeper is no stranger to Turin. He previously represented Juventus between 2015 and 2017, making 22 appearances and helping the club compete for domestic and European honours.

His return comes almost a decade after leaving the club and following subsequent spells with Valencia, Barcelona, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Botafogo.

🔥 Juventus move quickly after Grabara setback

Grabara’s injury has forced Juventus to act in the market, with the club looking for an experienced goalkeeper who can immediately step into the squad.

Rather than waiting for the next transfer window, Juventus have opted for the free-agent market, allowing them to bring in Neto without paying a transfer fee.

The goalkeeper’s previous experience in Serie A and familiarity with Juventus make him a practical short-term option.

🧤 Neto brings huge experience

Neto has spent more than a decade playing at the highest level of European football.

He has featured for major clubs in Italy, Spain and England, while also gaining Champions League experience during his career.

His previous Juventus spell saw him operate primarily as a backup, but he remained a trusted member of the squad and was part of the team that reached the 2017 Champions League final.

Now, his role will once again be focused on providing experienced competition and reliable cover.

🇧🇷 From Juventus to Europe — and back again

Neto’s career has taken him across several major football destinations since his first Juventus departure.

After leaving Turin, he continued his career in Spain with Valencia and Barcelona before moving to the Premier League with Bournemouth and later Arsenal.

His most recent chapter came in Brazil with Botafogo.

Now, Juventus have offered him another opportunity to return to European football — and this time, it has come unexpectedly.

⚫⚪ A familiar face returns

The agreement represents a significant piece of emergency business for Juventus following Grabara’s injury.

Neto already understands the club, Italian football and the pressure associated with playing for one of Europe’s biggest teams.

For Juventus, the priority is to maintain sufficient goalkeeping depth for the remainder of the campaign.

For Neto, it is a remarkable opportunity to return to a club where he previously spent two seasons and once again compete at the highest level.

Neto is therefore set for an unexpected return to Juventus, with the free-agent goalkeeper ready to begin his second chapter in Turin.
