Arbeloa Urges UEFA to Take Stronger Stand Against Racism
Real Madrid coach, Alvaro Arbeloa, has called on UEFAΒ to make its fight against racism more than just a slogan following the alleged abuse of Vinicius Junior.
Arbeloa spoke this Tuesday, ahead of Real Madridβs Champions League play-off second leg against SL Benfica, after UEFA provisionally suspended Benfica midfielder Gianluca Prestianni over the alleged incident in the first leg.
He said UEFA now has an opportunity to mark a turning point in the fight against racism and urged the body to take decisive action beyond symbolic gestures.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois backed Vinicius, insisting the club stands fully behind the Brazilian winger as investigations continue.
