The Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ASERC) has formally signed three landmark regulatory instruments governing the Anambra Electricity Market

The Anambra State Electricity Regulatory Commission (ASERC) has formally signed three landmark regulatory instruments governing the Anambra Electricity Market:
1. Customer Protection Regulations
2. Licensing Regulations
3. Investment Regulations
These instruments, issued under the Anambra State Electricity Law (ASEL) 2025, establish the legal and operational framework for a fair, transparent, and investor-friendly electricity market in Anambra State.
It’s pertinent to note that the regulations were not developed behind closed doors. Prior to signing, ASERC conducted extensive public consultations across all three Senatorial Districts of the State, holding sessions in Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi, and Ekwulobia to gather input from members of the public, industry stakeholders, and communities who will be directly served by this framework. The voices of Anambra people shaped these regulations.
This is part of Mr Governor’s transformative vision in building the structures that will power Anambra’s emergence as Nigeria’s leading light in subnational electricity business.
