NEMESIS Season 2 is officially in production at Netflix, but the series is losing its showrunner.
Netflix has renewed the hit crime drama for a second season, but co-creator Courtney A. Kemp is reportedly stepping away from her day to day showrunner duties after signing an exclusive overall deal with Apple TV+. She will remain involved as an executive producer while co-creator Tani Marole takes on a larger creative role.
Kemp, best known for creating the POWER universe, helped turn NEMESIS into one of Netflix’s biggest new crime thrillers. Despite the leadership change, Netflix has confirmed that Season 2 will continue the story of Isaiah Stiles and Coltrane Wilder, with production expected to begin soon.
While losing its original showrunner is a major behind the scenes shift, Netflix is keeping the creative team together, hoping to build on the success that made NEMESIS one of the platform’s breakout dramas of 2026.
